An individual climate control unit in the centre console as well as adjustable air vents, also located in the B pillar between the front and rear doors, allow rear-seat passengers to set their own desired temperature. The four-zone automatic climate control system allows the driver, front- and rear-seat passengers to set air distribution to match their personal preferences. The air vents in the instrument control can be set on one focused position through to general, draft-free air circulation. The circulation filter, sun and condensation sensors, and residual heat utilisation allow the ideal temperature to be reached quickly.

You can also order the perfect temperature for your vehicle by making a short telephone call to the BMW ConnectedDrive Call Center prior to your journey. Based on the outside temperature, the BMW 5 Series Sedan decides whether the cockpit needs to be warmed or cooled. Active seat heating in the front seats lowers the temperature using integrated air vents which are a welcome pleasure during hot summer months. After a set period of time, the seat vents automatically change down a setting to prevent undercooling.
