Internet access.

Thanks to BMW ConnectedDrive, the internet can be used freely for the first time in an automobile. You can enter the address of any website you require or open a site directly using one of the favourite buttons. The iDrive Controller in the central console functions in the same way as a standard computer mouse.

Mobile phone preparation with Bluetooth interface
in the BMW 3 Series Convertible.

The cordless Bluetooth mobile phone means you can do away with the cumbersome cable between your mobile handset and the hands-free equipment. Bluetooth-compatible mobile phones register with the on-board computer via the optional interface as soon as the driver approaches the vehicle. Telephone numbers, addresses and call lists are then automatically synchronised with the on-board computer. During the journey, the mobile phone can be operated using the multifunction steering wheel or the hands-free equipment. There is a snap-in-adapter available for the Apple iPhone. Your local BMW Service Centre will be happy to inform you of the mobile phones with which the Bluetooth interface is compatible.

Navigation systems in the
BMW 3 Series Convertible.

The direct route to your destination: the satellite-supported navigation systems present directions as clear arrows on the monitor and as easy-to-follow spoken instructions over the sound system. The BMW Navigation system Business (including iDrive and Radio Professional with combined CD/DVD drive) offers a 6.5-inch colour monitor, while the BMW Professional system (including iDrive, Radio Professional, DVD drive and a hard drive for storing maps and audio files for example) has integrated Voice Control and a large 8.8-inch colour monitor that also offers split-screen functionality. Commonly-used functions can be individually saved and activated using the eight functional bookmarks buttons.

An adjunct to the optional BMW Professional navigation system in the BMW 3 Series Convertible, Voice Control puts your words into instant action. It enables you to adjust any of the central iDrive functions by speech alone. It even offers a text-to-speech function that can read incoming e-mails aloud. Convenience, safety, comfort: Voice Control ensures that you are not distracted from the most important aspect of the BMW 3 Series Convertible - driving.

USB/audio interface in the
BMW 3 Series Convertible.

The USB/audio interface integrated in the central console allows you to connect your USB stick or MP3 player to your vehicle. Music titles stored on this are displayed on the radio or navigation screen and can be selected using the multifunction steering wheel, or via the iDrive Controller.
